Before Installing A Pools
Swimming pools are among the best features in a home. There are some potential home buyers who are specifically looking for pools when buying a home. Having a pool at home would even allow you and your family to experience summer the whole year round. Before you consider having a pool at home, you must know everything about installing pools.
Having a pool would surely increase the value of your home especially if you are putting it up for sale in the future. You could get a higher amount for your house compared to what you have spent to buy it. Having a pool at home would enable you to relax, exercise and have fun with the family and you do not have to travel for that.
The major decision would be about choosing if you would like to have an above or in-ground pool. An above ground pool will of course be more affordable, but there are landscape considerations like a levelled ground and proper assembling. There are some who would build a deck around their above-ground pools to give an in-ground effect.
An in-ground pool will be of course more expensive, the equipment and labour would have to be considered. And also the size of the pool installed will depend on the area, considering that you would have to some tree loping.
Here are some things that you would need to keep in mind:
• Your preference of an in-ground or above-ground would also depend on the dimensions of the land where you are planning to install a pool. If you would like to have an above-ground pool then you would need a flat ground. But there are some instances that you could have an above-ground pool partly excavated in your land. This would solve an issue of a semi-flat land.
• You should know if there are any underground cables and pipes in your land. This is something that you should consult with your local state or county governmental offices. You could also ask if there are any regulations about building a pool, like having a fence or about removing a tree, since pools should not be build near any tree.
• You should also be prepared for the costs of having a pool installed. Aside from the cost of the above-ground pool, you would also have to consider the labour costs. An inground pool would normally require heavy equipment especially for excavation.
• There are some areas that have chronic shortages of water supply. Therefore, their water boards have rules about building or filling a pool. Check with your local water board about the regulations.
• You would need an expert to help you with your pool, make sure that your builder is a member of the HIA and the Swimming Pool and Spa Association. They would also be able to help you identify what kind of pool that would fit in your budget. Just make sure that you would be conveying what you expect before they start working.
• Aside from the building or installing considerations, you would also have to factor in what filtering and cleaning systems you would like to use. You would have to consider the costs and how convenient it would be for you in the long run.
When looking for a builder, make sure that everything would be included in the builder’s contract. This would include landscaping, lighting, a filtration system, a pool cover and the disposal of the excavated soil.
There are a lot considerations when building or installing a pool but its benefits are great. So it is important to consider everything about pools before going ahead and have one. A guided decision that is
